NH DWI / DUI Laws

When charged with a drunk driving offense in Nashua or Manchester New Hampshire, many people have difficulty understanding exactly what they have been charged with. The law is very complex and changes frequently. It can be a trap for the unwary, making it critical to have experienced and knowledgeable representation to guide you through the process.

A conviction for a first offense DWI in NH entails the following penalties:

  • You will be guilty of a class B misdemeanor;
  • You will be fined not less than $500;
  • You will be required to furnish proof of successful completion of an impaired driver intervention program;
  • Your license or privilege to drive shall be revoked for not less than 9 months.

With a second or third offense the penalties steadily increase to include a mandatory jail sentence.  I use my experience as a former Nashua NH police officer and a former NH prosecutor to navigate the criminal justice system.  I have been trained in field sobriety testing to include the horizontal gaze nystagmus test.   I am familiar with the intricacies and procedures for obtaining an accurate breath test.  Importantly, although the state of NH has an obligation to protect society from the consequences of drunk driving, it has an equal obligation to preserve the rights of its citizens. I make sure the state does just that. Do not face a NH DWI/DUI charge alone. Contact me to protect your rights and secure the best possible outcome. Call me at (603-438-2778).

Drug Charges NH

A conviction for even a minor possession charge, such as possession of marijuana, cocaine or prescription medication in New Hamsphire can mean loss of licensure, removal from school, and the end of a promising career.

I defend all clients vigorously against drug crime charges in Nashua NH and Manchester NH. I explore every option, and I investigate the prosecution’s case to identify weaknesses involving the search and seizure of alleged contraband.  I aggressively file motions to suppress and exclude evidence and I ensure that you receive the defense you need to get results. Contact me to learn how I will put my resources and experience to work for you. Call me at 603-438-2778

Motor Vehicle Offenses

The inconvenience of losing your license will affect you and your family. I have helped clients with a variety of motor vehicle offenses.   In New Hampshire when you are convicted of a motor vehicle violation you earn points against your license. There are assorted safety regulations that address license suspension depending on a variety of factors to include: age, type of offense and the number of offenses.  Also, certain classifications of motor vehicle offenses can make you eligible for habitual offender status.  If you are caught driving while being certified as a habitual offender, you could end up serving time in prison.

I have extensive experience working with the Department of Motor Vehicles.  Many license suspensions are the result of a DMV paperwork snafu.  The DMV process can be confusing and frustrating.  Let me help you by taking away your stress and by providing the guidance you need to get your license restored.  Call me at 603-438-2778

Domestic Violence

We live in a world in which the economy, job loss,  child problems or other family issues can sometimes  cause people to respond in ways that they would not normally act.  Furthermore, there is usually a high degree of emotion involved in these situations. Many times, average people find themselves charged with assorted crimes because one argument got a little bit out of hand.  In the current legal system, the safety of the alleged victim is of primary concern to law enforcement officials.  People who are accused of these crimes are normally forced to leave their families, their homes and sometimes their jobs.

I have a vast amount of experience working on domestic violence cases.  Hopefully, many times these cases can be resolved short of a conviction through treatment and reconciliation. However, in certain situations people need to be defended because of what may be a poor decision or behavior that a law enforcement official considers as a potential safety risk in a family or personal relationship. As an experienced attorney, I will help guide you through this process.  Call met at 603-438-2778.

Computer Crimes

Computer crime, or Cybercrime, refers to any crime that involves a computer and a network. The computer may have been used in the commission of a crime, or it may be the target.   Net crime refers, more precisely, to criminal exploitation of the Internet. Issues surrounding this type of crime has become high-profile, particularly those surrounding cracking, copyright infringement child pornography, and child grooming. There are also problems of privacy when confidential information is lost or intercepted, lawfully or otherwise.

I have received training in prosecuting computer crimes, and I know how the prosecution tries to build a case against.  Let me show you how my past experience can be used to help you.  Call me at 603-438-2778

Never assume that you cannot win

Even when it appears that the prosecution and police have a strong case, it is still possible to win at trial. Prosecutors make mistakes, as do police officers. When you are facing significant penalties whether or not you plead guilty, it is often smart to go to trial. There is often little to lose and much to gain.  Contact me at 603-438-2778 for a free consultation.

With you throughout the process

Most people who face criminal charges are not career criminals. Most, in fact, have never encountered the criminal justice system before; most will never do so again. Because they are unfamiliar with the process, they are doubly in need of representation. I am by your side from the beginning, making sure that you know your options and your rights.
